Worum geht es in The Book of Bantorra?
Nach ihrem Tod werden alle Menschen in »Bücher« verwandelt, die in der Bantorra Bibliothek aufbewahrt werden. Um diese Bücher wird ein gnadenloser Krieg geführt, dessen Ausgang noch unbekannt ist. Einem Jungen namens Koria Tonisu werden alle Erinnerungen gelöscht und in seine Brust eine Bombe implantiert, mit der er Hamyutsu Meseta töten soll, die mächtigste Bibliothekarin der Welt, die über übernatürliche Kräfte verfügt und für die »Bücher« verantwortlich ist. Koria bekommt Teile des Buches von Shiron Byacornise in die Hände und fängt an, für sie und deren Leben, Interesse zu entwickeln. Er beginnt sein eigenes Dasein anzuzweifeln und fragt sich, ob er nicht doch mehr ist, als nur eine laufende Bombe.
